My most successful modified trap and trapping technique so far. The extra spring tension and array of spikes ensures there is no slipping out of this trap as with other conventional snap traps. I have found sunflower seeds to work best as bait. To draw the rats in to the trap, I spread a generous amount of them leading up to the trigger. The older, smarter rats are harder to entice and take longer to become comfortable around the trap, while the young rats are easiest to catch. WARNING*** If you modify a VICTOR trap this way, take special care to ensure no other pets, animals or children can be harmed. Use a safety catch to prevent injury while setting. I find it important to have a good surveillance camera covering my traps. It helps me see what is working. Also, I get notifications when there is activity so I can re-bait and re-set when necessary.
